Vocal health is key for any singer or any professional voice user. Day to day vocal health is a mix of creating good practice habits and thoughtful use of the voice in all settings. Sometimes vocal health means knowing what remedies you have at your disposal and other times it means knowing when to rest. Vocal strain is common in many professional and amateur vocalists. Touring or frequent giging can have a tremendous effect on one's vocal stamina and over-all health.
I have worked with singers with more serious vocal injuries as well. Nodules, polyps or cysts can feel like career enders for many, but with careful practice and help from a voice specialist, vocal therapists or Ear Nose and Throat professionals, the road to recovery can be one filled with learning and growth.
